Atlas CW5400 Series Slitter Rewinder

The Atlas CW5400 Series provides intermediate slitting solution which is available in web widths from 4.2 to 5.4 metres (165 - 212in).

The CW5400 Series slitter rewinder is part of a proven platform which delivers higher efficiency, more productivity, higher quality rewind reels, reduced noise levels and more effective operator control systems.

The compact design of this slitter rewinder is harmonised with the larger CW1040 primary slitter rewinder and features an improved web path configuration. The electrical control cabinets are fully integrated inside the slitter, which reduces the space required for installation and removes the need for floor trenches.

Control of the CW5400 is managed through touchscreen interface and the latest industrial grade computers using process logic controllers (PLC) including a PLC for the safety systems.

In addition, high efficiency motors, improved hydraulics and a reduction in electrical wiring make the new CW5400 Series a more environmentally friendly slitting & rewinding solution.

One fully integrated HMI master control screen simplifies operation of the machine and is ergonomically panel mounted.

In addition, every roller on each Atlas Machine is individually driven using high efficiency motors. Improved hydraulics and incorporation of BlueTooth technology provides a reduction in electrical wiring to make the CW5400 Series a more environmentally friendly slitting & rewinding solution.

1 Unwind Section

THE UNWIND STATION INCORPORATES REGENERATIVE MOTORS TO REDUCE ENERGY CONSUMPTION. CORE LIFTED FOR OPTIMUM CHUCKING WHILST LOADING.

2 Human Machine Interface (HMI)

ONE FULLY INTEGRATED MASTER CONTROL SCREEN IS MOUNTED ERGONOMICALLY the machine WHICH SIMPLIFIES OPERATION WITH SATELLITE SCREENS POSITIONED AROUND THE MACHINE FOR OPERATOR INTERFACE.

3 Tension Control System

CONSISTS OF TWO FULL DIAMETER INDIVIDUALLY DRIVEN ROLLS, ACTING IN A LINEAR MOTION TO PROVIDE OPTIMUM TENSION CONTROL.

4 Anti-Static Control System

TWO DC PULSE STATIC CONTROL BARS MOUNTED IN THE REWIND SECTION OF THE MACHINE TO REDUCE STATIC CHARGE IN THE INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL REWIND REELS. (TWO ADDITIONAL STATIC CONTROL BARS AVAILABLE AS AN OPTION).

5 Directly Driven Spreader Roll

ALSO KNOWN AS THE BANANA OR BOWED ROLLER. THIS ROLLER ORIENTATES AND PREPARES THE MATERIAL FOR SLITTING ELIMINATING CREASING, WEB EXPANSION AND WRINKLE REMOVING  BEFORE REACHING THE KNIVES.

6 Automatic Knife Positioning

USES THE ATLAS PICK & PLACE SYSTEM FOR SELECTION AND SETTING THE KNIVES IN GROOVE. AUTOMATIC CALIBRATION OF GROOVE ROLL PROVIDES PRECISE BLADE POSITIONING ON EACH SET UP.

AN OPTIONAL CAMERA SHOWS THE POSITION OF THE BLADE IN RELATION TO THE GROOVE WITH THE IMAGE DISPLAYED ON THE MAIN CONTROL SCREEN.

7 Linear Acting Contact Rolls

THE CONTACT ROLL ARMS PROVIDE PRECISE CONTACT CONTROL, WHICH ENABLES HIGHER QUALITY REWIND REELS. CONTACT ROLL PARKING ENABLES REDUCED SET- UP TIME AND INCREASED PRODUCTIVITY.

8 BlueTooth Wireless Rewind Arm Positioning

INDUSTRIAL BLUETOOTH TECHNOLOGY PROVIDES SPEED CONTROL, TENSION AND PRECISE ARM POSITIONING CONTROL.

THIS ELIMINATES THE NEED FOR CONTROL CABLING.

POWER IS PROVIDED BY A DC BUS-BAR LOCATED UNDER THE REWIND BEAMS.

9 Rewind Arms

THREE TYPES OF REWIND ARMS ARE AVAILABLE FOR SLIT WIDTHS AS NARROW AS 200MM WITH HEAVY-DUTY ARMS FOR WIDER REELS AND REWIND DIAMETERS UP TO 1500MM.

A SINGLE DRIVE BELT ON THE REWIND ARM IMPROVES RELIABILITY AND PROVIDES OPTIMUM TORQUE AT CHUCKS.

THE REWIND MOTORS HAVE TORQUE CHARACTERISTICS WHICH INCREASE EFFICIENCY AND PRODUCTIVITY.

10 Drive Control Panels

THE ELECTRICAL CONTROL PANELS ARE AIR-CONDITIONED AND FULLY INTEGRATED INSIDE THE SLITTER WHICH REDUCES THE SPACE REQUIRED FOR INSTALLATION AND REDUCES THE OVERALL MACHINE FOOTPRINT.

11 Trim Winder (Optional)

CORELESS OSCILLATING DESIGN TO EFFICIENTLY WIND AND COLLECT THE EDGE TRIM DURING SLITTING MACHINE PROCESSES.
